My work explores narratives through a vivid interplay of pigment, fabric, and texture, reflecting a diverse tapestry of experiences—from my punk past and dual roles as an artist and chef to raising an interracial family in the South. I aim to capture the essence of my crafted world by challenging the unexamined histories embedded in materials like fabric, soil, and spices.Inspired by the rich legacy of Southern folklore and the interplay of region, identity, and settlement, I infuse objectivity into figurative expression through deliberate disruption. My process transforms pure creativity into tangible form, creating a playful yet profound engagement with culture and materiality.
